Philosophy & Features: What Makes Us Different
In keeping with the meet mission to provide athletes, coaches, and spectators
with a uniquely superior track & field experience, the Blue Ridge Classic does a
number of things differently from ordinary track meets. These include
extraordinary food hospitality for team coaches, officials, and volunteers; the
establishment in Dalton Stadium of a meet hub (the “Blue Ridge Village”) where
vendors, food tents, first aid, team registration, and other services are
conveniently located; and superior support for athletes and coaches. See also

Meet Brochure
Extraordinary Coaches Hospitality. The best hospitality for coaches of any
meet you will ever attend. Gourmet, home-cooked breakfast and lunch smorgasbord,
including locally famous Ron Scott’s BBQ, and drinks and snacks all day long.
Real Southern hospitality, not just concession stand hotdogs. Picnic tables and
dining tent for coaches, overlooking the surrounding soaring mountains.
Educational Scholarships Awarded To Participating Athletes. Two $500
scholarships, to be used for higher education, will be awarded at the Blue Ridge
Classic to one deserving participating senior male and female athlete. Athletes
must be nominated in advance of the meet by their coaches; scholarships awarded
at the beginning of the afternoon finals. For more information visit the

Traditional 50/50 Raffle With A New Twist! Proceeds to be split and awarded
to the winning ticket and an attending team. After the drawing of the winner of
a traditional 50/50 raffle, a second drawing will
be held to select one of the attending teams as the beneficiary of the other
half of the proceeds from the
sale of raff e tickets. Teams will be entered as they check in on the day of the
meet. None of the raffle
proceeds will be retained by the Blue Ridge Classic and the host team, AC
Reynolds, will not be entered into this second raffle.
